This is another favorite of the Murray series. As you can tell from the 5 star review. Avery and Gillyanne are visiting family in France when there is a raid. The Decraux (sp) the same ones who pursued Avery's mother years ago raid their family's estate in France. By a series of circumstance they end up in the care of a fellow Scotsman as a payment of a debt owed.

Only this Scotsman was told Avery's brother, Sir Payton Murray, raped and left his sister pregnant. He then decided that he will seduce Avery and force Payton to marry his sister to restore her honor. The problem is the passion between them flare although Avery tries to withstand.

On the trip back Avery and Gillyanne save and heal many of Cameron MacAlpin's clan. This therefore earns them a deep respect. Cameron still believes that his sister is wronged and although wants to keep Avery he lets her go in exchange for Payton. But when the truth emerges what will Cameron do? And will it ever be enough?

This is a wonderful book. Hannah Howell again comes out with the Murrays and the Murrays were real people. Now this story is fiction, and the names are fiction, but the real Murrays lived in Scotland. Hannah did not use the real names except as minimal characters and/or bad guys. Look the real Murrays up on Wikipedia. But this book was wonderful, as are all of Hannah's books.
Excellent book a must read and with each word that is read you really are hooked, what an excellent writer! I never want to miss a book in every series and I highly recommend this book and all books by this author! Fantastic book, you will not want to put it down, I know I didn't and I wanted more and I feel that you will also! Great, Great, Book!
HH is an excellent author. I truly enjoyed this book. It was fast paced, love started right in the beginning, love scenes were hot, and story was interesting.

I know a lot of people complain about the Scottish accents in HH's books. I particularly enjoy figuring out some of the slang...ie Ken=know. I have read several of her books and once you learn the vocabulary you can appreciate the story. It's like you are right in Scotland!!
Another good read with lots of action, strong characters and some humor and passion. I gave this book a five star rating because it had all the elements of a good read. I would recommend this book to all romantic's.
Most of the works by Hannah Howell that I have read to date are worthy of the read, Highland Knight is no exception. Avery is fresh as a no-nonsense, speak-her-mind heroine and Cameron has no idea what hit him when he accepted her as payment for a wager. She and her young cousin, Gillyanne, run circles around the brave knight, yet the outcome is far more rewarding than the journey there. Delightful story, terrific characters, warm your cider and put your feet up for this wonderful adventure.
I am currently in the process of reading the whole series. I thought I would just read the first one but it is really hard not to continue on. The books have a humor to them that keep you engaged & the stories are well told & thought out. Hard not to get involved in the characters & the story so I would say if you like this type of genre you will highly enjoy these books & the series. I am on book 7 & will be sad when there are no more. LOL
